Thomas Jefferson was a man of invention. He did not only write the U. S. Constitution. He also had practical inventions in his home. He had his bed rigged with pulleys so when he was not sleeping in it he would pull it up to the ceiling. He would have loved sofa beds.

Sofa beds are of the same principle. When you are not sleeping on it you can use it as a sofa to sit on. Why not have a sofa bed in your bedroom. When you are not sleeping on it you can fold it in and have extra space in your bedroom. It is like having a whole extra room in your house during the day.

Of course sofa beds are great when friends come over and night. They may have a long drive home. You invite them to stay the night. You might not have the luxury of a guest room, but with a sofa bed you do not need a spare room to accommodate your overnight guests.

Some might think sofa beds are not comfortable. And maybe in years gone past this was true. But sofa beds are more comfortable today because of new workmanship. And they are easier to pull out and push back in. And if you did not know there was a bed in that sofa you would not be able to tell. So the sofa bed makes for a great looking piece of furniture.

If one spouse is working late and does not want to disturb his or her sleeping spouse, he or she can simply pull out the sofa bed and sleep there. Or if one has a cold and does not want to transfer it to the other, one can choose the sofa bed that night.

Ever need to rent a studio apartment? Sometimes the rents are so high that is all you can afford. Or perhaps you need an extra apartment for work or vacation reasons. All you might need is a large living area with a small kitchen area. So your rent a studio apartment. Put a sofa bed in your living area and you have a bedroom and living room all in one.

A sofa bed is a great addition for the basement. A Basement has room for a washer and dryer, an entertainment center, a game table. So why try to squeeze a bed in there? But a sofa bed is perfect. When it is time to sleep simply pull out the bed from the sofa you were sitting on to watch TV.

Sofa beds are the most practical furniture money can buy. It is perfect for guests, a practical space saver, perfect for the basement. They make for comfortable sitting and sleeping.
